The Milk Run Benefiting YPN
A big part of healthy living is having access to the right food items to help children grow and thrive. The human body cannot make calcium, so the dairy foods that children eat and drink every day are important to their development and growth. Calcium is needed for strong, healthy bones and teeth. Especially in young toddlers because their bones are growing all the time.
Help us provide milk to young families in need by participating in the first-annual Milk Run is 5K / 1-mile fun run/walk that starts at Dan and Debbie’s Creamery in Ely, Iowa. Your registration for this event provides YPN families with nutritious farm fresh wholesome milk from Dan and Debbie’s Creamery farm-fresh wholesome milk.
The Milk Runs begins at the Creamery and heads south on the new Cedar Valley Nature Trail to the Linn Co/Johnson Co line, then back to the Creamery. As 5K runners approach the halfway ‘turn around’ point they are able to run right alongside our heifer Holstein cows, or as we like to call them, the future of Dan and Debbie’s Creamery! The entire route is on the trail with only 2-3 street crossings! It’s a great route on a brand new paved trail.
As runners cross the finish line they will be greeted with a pint of ice cold Dan and Debbie’s whole chocolate milk to refuel their bodies.
